Virginia and I were great buddies - from Parker Grade School onward to Wapato High School - I guess I could say, we started out "making mud pies" to trying our hand at putting mascara on. We did silly skits in Thespians, fixed our hair, tried using make up and enjoyed being young. The 45's blasted, and slumber parties flourished. In high school, the fashion of the day were the winter coats with "fur" collars and big hair with barretts. Before that, however, it was mom and dad who made sure I was at Gin's or she was at my house ... it was a family affair. After graduation, Ginny went to California and I went to Spokane on to business school and then visiting in New Mexico. We wrote each other about our new "freedom" from high school and the great discoveries as young women - our weekly letters darted back and forth. Gone way too early, but so treasured, still today.
